Lowmans Arizona Funeral Home takes great pride in offering a wide variety of services as well as providing exceptional quality services and merchandise for our families we serve. We offer services such as “Direct Cremation”, ”Cremation with a Memorial Service” aka; “Celebration of Life”, “Cremation with a Viewing”, Cremation with Traditional Services”, (includes viewing and a funeral service), “Traditional Funeral Services”, “Graveside Services”, “Military Services with Honors”, and ”Viewing Only with Graveside Services”. There are many options and ways of creating a memorable and tasteful service. Unlike 50 years ago, the Funeral Industry has changed with regards to services provided. Because of the “baby boomers”, many families lean towards the direction of personalized services. “Personalized Services” are geared towards creating an environment that best reflects the life, aspirations, passions, and favorite memories and adventures of the deceased. This can be accomplished by doing a video of your loved ones life, bringing in memorabilia that best reflects your loved ones hobbies or favorite past times, putting together picture boards of their favorite adventures, or pictures surrounded by family and friends. These things help to trigger the mourning process and create a dialogue for all of the guests in attendance. We offer services, at the cemetery, where the casket can be brought to the graveside with a horse drawn carriage. This is a favorite amongst the cowboys and horseback riders. There are the “Big Band” services where the bands march and play while we follow them with their loved one in the funeral coach. We sometimes call this “New Orleans” style.
It is amazing how families come up with so many great ideas, and, contrary to popular belief, take great pride in orchestrating a service that best reflects their loved one. The most important thing to remember is that there is no “right” or “wrong” way to do your services. As long as the service meets your needs, along with your loved ones, your wishes can and should be met. Let it also be said that we must operate within the law.
With all of the new technology, many things can be done that otherwise couldn’t be done before, i.e.; video presentations, “Thumbies”, ( a keepsake with your loved ones thumb print in the form of a necklace, cuff links, key fob, pocket knife, ring, etc.), a wide variety of personalized caskets, various personalized and standard urns, keepsakes, personalized Bibles, taking your cremated remains and having them created into a diamond, and the list goes on.
We explain to our families, in depth, the changes that have occurred in the funeral industry as we believe that knowledge is power. Decisions can be better made with a greater understanding of the changes that have occurred in this industry. A funeral home that was owned by a family 50 years ago, may still have the same “name”, but it can be owned by a large conglomerate that could be public on the stock market, affecting the cost as they line the stockholders pockets.
“Our Goal”

Direct Cremation: Direct cremation with no services.
Cremation with a Memorial Service (Celebration of Life): Cremation with a service at the funeral home, your home, or church without the human remains present. An urn is sometimes present at these services.
Cremation with a Viewing: A formal viewing of your loved one in either a rental or purchased casket at the funeral home, your church, your home or place of your choosing, with cremation following.
Cremation with Traditional Services: This includes a formal viewing of your loved one in either a rental or purchased casket at the funeral home, your church, your home or place of your choosing, followed by a funeral service, with cremation following.
Traditional Funeral Services: This includes a formal viewing either the night before the funeral service of the same day as the funeral service, funeral service the next day, (or following the formal viewing), a procession to the cemetery with escorts, with services concluding at the cemetery after witnessing the lowering of the casket into the grave. This is a choice made by the family. Not all family members want to be present for the casket lowering.
Graveside Services: This service is conducted at the graveside only. Family members meet the Funeral Director at the cemetery, a service is conducted by a clergy member or family member, and services conclude either before or after witnessing the lowering of the casket. This is a choice made by the family.
Military Service with Honors: As long as the decease has his/her discharge paperwork, (DD214), Military Honors can be provided at any cremation or burial service. All Honorably Discharged Veterans are entitled to these services. Whether buried or cremated, every Honorably Discharged Veteran has a right to free burial at any National Memorial Cemetery, along with their spouse, and/or any under aged child that is tragically lost. If cremation is involved, you are given the options of in ground burial or placement of the urn in a “Niche” at the National Memorial Cemetery. You do not have to be buried at a National Memorial Cemetery in order to receive honors. The Honor Guards can be present at any cemetery of your request.
Viewing Only with Graveside Services: This includes a formal viewing of your loved one in a purchased casket, and services at the graveside. Some families choose to just meet at the cemetery, while others choose to have a procession with escorts from the place of viewing to the cemetery.
